Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Powell (ranked 6111 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 6343 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Powell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Daniels !
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels tries to keep at a distance but Powell has taken the fight into the clinch.

Powell breaks from the clinch.
Daniels uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Powell.
And Daniels tries to counter it with a takedown but Powell pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Powell drives through and clinches with Daniels against the cage.
Powell jumps guard but Daniels turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Powell tries to circle away but Daniels has him pinned against the cage.
Powell tries to pull guard but Daniels won't allow it.

Daniels has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Powell clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Powell can't escape the position.
Daniels not allowing Powell to control his hands.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniels struggling to keep hold of the position.

Daniels controlling well, preventing Powell from escaping the position.
Powell trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Daniels is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Powell is in bad spot here.

Daniels is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Powell is defending well though. Daniels let's go of the attempt for now.

Daniels is landing with strikes. Powell can't take much more of this.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daniels keeps control of the position easily here as Powell tries to buck him off.

Daniels scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Daniels working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Daniels controls the position.
Powell breaks Daniels 's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Powell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Powell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daniels is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Powell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Powell wants to clinch but Daniels slips to the side

and Daniels counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Daniels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Powell is keeping the position for now.
Powell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daniels 's guard.

Powell wants to stand but Daniels has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jack Daniels has got the better of the ground game so far.
Daniels has Powell pulled in close to control his posture.
Daniels is trying to control the position but Powell postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Daniels is thwarting Powell's attempts to control the position.
Daniels tries to stand but can't do so whilst Powell controls his leg.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Daniels has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Daniels clinches with his opponent.
Powell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daniels fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Daniels takes the fight into the clinch.
Powell is trying to pull guard but Daniels has him pressed against the cage.

Daniels tries to land knees in the clinch but Powell avoids the damage to the body.
Powell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Daniels is defending well for now.
Daniels struggles to land a body shot inside as Powell controls his hands.
Powell is trying to pull guard but Daniels turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Powell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Powell jumps guard but Daniels stands there with Powell around his waist. Powell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Powell manages to break the clinch.

Powell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Daniels looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Daniels is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Powell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Powell is trying to control the action in half guard but Daniels is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Daniels is looking to control Powell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Daniels avoid being mounted?
Daniels is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Powell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Powell's back!

Daniels looking to break Powell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Powell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Daniels will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Daniels has a takedown stuffed.

Daniels fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Powell, pushing him back against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Powell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Daniels shoots for a takedown but Powell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
It looked like Powell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Powell shoots in looking for a takedown. Daniels tries to sprawl out of it but Powell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daniels manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Daniels gets tackled into the cage by Powell. Powell maintains the clinch.

Daniels prevents the takedown attempt.
Powell is trying to push Daniels away but Daniels has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Powell just misses with a elbow thrown towards Daniels 's brow.
Powell wants to break free but Daniels has control.

Daniels breaks the clinch.
Powell tries to close the distance and clinch but Daniels swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Daniels . No joy for Powell on that attempt.
Daniels changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Powell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Daniels jumps guard and drags Powell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Daniels is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Powell defends well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daniels can do anything to dispel that myth.
Powell wants to stand but Daniels is controlling his posture from full guard.

Daniels avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Powell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Daniels has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Powell has managed to get both his arms back between Daniels 's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Daniels has a takedown stuffed.
Daniels takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Powell stuffs the takedown.

Powell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Daniels takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Powell trying to control the action but Daniels is working from the bottom.
Daniels tries to bench press Powell off him but Powell keeps the position.
Powell has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Daniels !
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Powell is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Daniels takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kyle Powell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Daniels is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Daniels tries to lock up and control but Powell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kyle Powell.
I think Daniels has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
