Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James McGuire (ranked 1094 p4p, 155 weight class) and Xafan Kong (ranked 700 p4p, 106 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman . Kong has chosen Demon's Theme as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
McGuire throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Kong to counter with a crisp jab.
Kong chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGuire can pounce on him.
McGuire motions for Kong to come forward. McGuire throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
McGuire connects with a looping right hand.
McGuire avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from McGuire. Kong does a little dance to reset his feet.
McGuire lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kong at a distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGuire has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Kong counters with a crisp one two that drops McGuire! Kong thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves McGuire to his feet! McGuire is in big trouble!
Xafan Kong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kong is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McGuire had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McGuire throws a solid leg kick but Kong takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McGuire.
Kong pivots, looking for a leg kick but McGuire is out of range and Kong settles back down.
McGuire appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
McGuire moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Kong blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

McGuire stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kong swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McGuire looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
McGuire feints a jab promting Kong to slip. McGuire then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kong slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Xafan Kong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
