Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Prophet (ranked 939 p4p, 46 weight class) and Hideaki Inoue (ranked 2247 p4p, 106 weight class). The Prophet has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, The Prophet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hideaki Inoue!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Inoue throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Prophet sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Prophet displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Inoue.
Prophet is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Inoue keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Prophet.
Inoue tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Prophet throws a series of punches but Inoue moves out of range.
Inoue on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prophet misses with an uppercut
and Prophet takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Prophet tries to sprawl but Inoue drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Inoue is looking to advance position but Prophet won't allow it.
Prophet holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Prophet is staying active underneath Inoue, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Inoue passes the guard and advances to mount!

Inoue jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Prophet is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Prophet and Inoue has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Inoue looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Prophet has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Inoue controls the position.
Prophet manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Inoue throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Inoue is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Inoue drops back, looking for a kneebar! Prophet looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Prophet looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Prophet!
Inoue is not content to let Prophet control the position.
Inoue holds on to Prophet's head and controls the position momentarily.
Inoue tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Prophet wants to control but Inoue is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prophet is staying tight to Inoue's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Prophet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Inoue is looking for a sweep.

A close round but Hideaki Inoue will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Prophet is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Inoue.
It seemed like Inoue was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Inoue tries to move into range but Prophet moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Prophet throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Inoue has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Prophet uses from the top position.
Hideaki Inoue has got the better of the ground game so far.

Prophet has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Inoue has his foot on Prophet's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Prophet works his way back into a safe position though.

Prophet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Inoue swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A low kick from Prophet is predictable there
and Inoue counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Inoue's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Prophet lands with a left to the head.
Prophet misses with a short punch on the inside.
Prophet lands a left hand that snaps the head of Inoue backwards.
Prophet lands a nice uppercut.
Inoue is rocked!
Prophet lands a big right hand that drops Inoue! The killer instinct kicks in and Prophet finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Prophet!
