The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starbowski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Custer has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Starbowski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Custer connects with a body shot that sends Starbowski's belly button to the back.
Starbowski tries a head kick but it misses.

Custer tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Starbowski's elbow.

Custer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Starbowski.
It looked like Custer wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've been informed that Starbowski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Custer cracks Starbowski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A counter left hand to the body from Custer misses its target.
Starbowski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Custer was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Starbowski.
Starbowski stalks Custer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Custer's face. Custer staggers backwards, shaken.
Starbowski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Starbowski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Starbowski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Starbowski takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Custer wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Starbowski connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Starbowski throws a shot from downtown. Custer moves away and avoids it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Starbowski changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Custer forces Starbowski back against the ropes and clinches.
Starbowski is trying to break the clinch but Custer has him pressed against the ropes.

Starbowski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Custer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Custer, as that shot connected.

Custer gets tackled into the ropes by Starbowski. Starbowski maintains the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Custer misses with a hook to the ribs.
Starbowski blocks an uppercut.
Custer lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Starbowski is rocked!
Custer creates a bit of distance and cracks Starbowski with a big uppercut! Starbowski goes down! The referee pushes Custer away into a neutral corner and starts the count. 4,5,6,7. Will Starbowski make it up in time? He's still flopping around all over the place! The referee has called off the fight! Custer takes it!
