PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Warrior (ranked 24466 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Krank (ranked 24467 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Frank Krank was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ben Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Krank!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warrior doesn't manage to clinch there - Krank circles away.
Krank avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Warrior lands a really nice looking cross but Krank seems unphased.

Krank looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Krank seems content to control.
It looks like Krank might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Krank is continuing to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Krank sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warrior is pressing down on Krank's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Krank controlling from the top position.
Krank distracts Warrior with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Krank trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Krank's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Krank's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Warrior not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Warrior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krank on the ground.
Krank controlling from the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Warrior is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Warrior tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Krank.
Warrior bucks up and tries to throw Krank off but instead Krank has got his back!
Krank keeps control of the position as Warrior tries to break free.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Krank is working for a rear naked choke. Warrior is not defending it well and Krank has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Warrior refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Warrior's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
