Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bubbi Morthens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Miyamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bubbi Morthens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bubbi Morthens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenji Miyamoto! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyamoto moves in looking to clinch but Morthens pushes him off. Miyamoto fails to land with a series of punches.
Miyamoto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Morthens wants to control but Miyamoto is keeping busy.
Miyamoto is looking to take a break and control but Morthens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Morthens is trying to control but Miyamoto manages to pass to mount!
Miyamoto landing strikes from the mount. Morthens tries to hold on but Miyamoto pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morthens is desperately trying to improve his position but Miyamoto has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miyamoto avoids the attempt from Morthens to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morthens is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Miyamoto is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Morthens is looking to improve his position but Miyamoto isn't that keen on the idea. Morthens is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Morthens tries to lock up and control but Miyamoto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Miyamoto prevents Morthens from getting the reversal. Miyamoto looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Morthens is working to get back to half guard.
Miyamoto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Morthens is looking to escape. Morthens tries to lock up and control but Miyamoto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morthens working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Morthens is breathing heavily. Miyamoto tries to control but Morthens wriggling away. Morthens is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Miyamoto unloading with bombs! Miyamoto working away from the top, dropping strikes. Miyamoto is stalling here but it's allowed Morthens to get half guard.
Morthens has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Miyamoto is working away from the top position though. Morthens is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Miyamoto content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Miyamoto dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Miyamoto tries to close the distance and clinch but Morthens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Miyamoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Morthens tries to get back to half guard but can't. Miyamoto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Morthens can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Miyamoto controlling the pace for now. Morthens in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morthens regains half guard. Morthens gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Morthens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Morthens wants to pass to mount but Miyamoto is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morthens seems to be working for a kimura but Miyamoto defends the submission attempt. Miyamoto trying to control here.
Morthens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miyamoto keeps working. Morthens is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morthens is looking to take a break and control but Miyamoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Miyamoto pushes Morthens off looking to stand but Morthens dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miyamoto throws a head kick that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Morthens fails with the takedown and Miyamoto counters by moving into the clinch. Miyamoto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Miyamoto is looking to clinch. Miyamoto tries to clinch up but Morthens circles away and keeps his distance. Miyamoto closes the distance and lands a one-two. Miyamoto is looking to clinch but Morthens is avoiding it.
Kenji Miyamoto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Miyamoto is looking to clinch. Miyamoto moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Miyamoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Miyamoto wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Morthens circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miyamoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Miyamoto wants to clinch. Morthens with a lazy takedown attempt and Miyamoto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Morthens is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Miyamoto. Miyamoto throws a hook to the side of Morthens's head but Morthens sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Miyamoto doesn't manage to clinch there - Morthens circles away.
Morthens slips a jab from Miyamoto.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miyamoto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morthens. Miyamoto moves into the clinch. Miyamoto swings wildly with an uppercut but Morthens uses good head movement to avoid it. Miyamoto is struggling to control the position. Miyamoto pushes off an fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Miyamoto looks to throw an elbow but misses. Miyamoto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Morthens misses with a takedown and Miyamoto counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Miyamoto. Miyamoto pressing his opponent against the cage. Morthens is fighting off a takedown attempt but Miyamoto is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Morthens to the mat. Morthens regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miyamoto postures up.
Morthens has an active guard here but Miyamoto has managed to pass into half guard.
Morthens is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Miyamoto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Miyamoto's back! Miyamoto looking very determined here, making life difficult for Morthens.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Morthens throwing sloppy strikes. Miyamoto covering up well under a series of strikes from Morthens. Morthens controlling well, preventing Miyamoto from escaping the position.

Miyamoto turns into Morthens and is now in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Morthens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miyamoto's guard. Miyamoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyamoto, not yet. Morthens trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyamoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morthens controlling from the top position. Miyamoto keeping moving, preventing Morthens from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenji Miyamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Miyamoto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
