Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Powell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And Charlton tries to counter it with a takedown but Powell pushes his down on his head and steps out. Powell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Charlton sprawls well initially but Powell persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Charlton has one foot on Powell's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Kyle Powell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Powell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Charlton sees it coming and avoids it easily. Powell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Powell avoids the head kick by Charlton.
Powell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powell wants it to stay on the feet. Charlton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Charlton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kyle Powell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Charlton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Charlton is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Powell forces Charlton back against the cage and clinches. Charlton pulls guard effortlessly. Charlton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Charlton throwing strikes but missing. Powell seems keen to control Charlton's posture. Powell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Powell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell is keen to just control but Charlton is a slippery customer. Charlton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Powell trying to control from Charlton's half guard. Charlton has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Powell throwing strikes but missing. Powell passes into half guard. Powell is looking for a kimura but Charlton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Powell to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell wants to take a breather but Charlton is having none of it. Powell working the head and body with strikes. Powell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Charlton has hold of Powell's hands but Powell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Powell looking for a submission but Charlton manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powell drops back, looking for a kneebar! Charlton looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Charlton looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Charlton!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charlton is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Powell's shoulder. That is not cool. You can see the frustration on Powell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Powell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Charlton has just dragged him back down to the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Charlton throwing strikes but missing, from side control. A close round but Steven Charlton will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Powell shoots in for a double leg but Charlton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Charlton tries to counter with a clinch but Powell shakes him off and moves away. Charlton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Powell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Charlton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Powell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powell wants it to stay on the feet. Powell rushes Charlton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Charlton has clasped his hands together around Powell's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Charlton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Powell sneaks back into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powell trying to control here.

Charlton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powell keeps working. Charlton stands up and beckons Powell to join him on the feet. Charlton wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Powell scores with a takedown into Charlton's guard. Powell throwing strikes from guard but Charlton blocks nicely. Charlton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Powell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charlton has a closed guard, preventing Powell from standing up. Powell trying to control but Charlton is working from the bottom. Powell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Powell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Charlton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Charlton working the body and head with strikes. Charlton working away. Powell is not content to let Charlton control the position. Powell taking punishment in the form of punches.
Powell tries to buck Charlton off but Charlton is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Charlton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Powell has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Charlton but great work by Powell. Charlton can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Powell dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Powell moves to clinch but Charlton breaks away and Charlton counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Charlton. Powell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Charlton is aware though and is defending well. Charlton trying to control but Powell is working from the bottom. Powell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Powell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Charlton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Charlton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Charlton chips away with some ground and pound. Charlton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charlton wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving. Charlton stands and throws Powell's legs to the side, diving into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Charlton decides to stand back up. Charlton fails with a takedown attempt. Charlton throws a body shot but no joy. Powell shoots in for a takedown but Charlton shows good takedown defense. Powell dives in for a single leg takedown but Charlton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Charlton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell is not content to let Charlton control the position. Powell is trying to escape the position but Charlton is controlling the position. Charlton working away. Powell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Powell takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Charlton trying to control the position but Powell is working away. Powell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Powell tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charlton is staying tight to Powell's torso, preventing him from escaping. Charlton is looking to take a break and control but Powell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Powell defending against the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Powell is being controlled here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Powell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Charlton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Charlton wants to work for an arm triangle but Powell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Charlton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Powell is not content to let Charlton control the position. Charlton scoring with strikes to the body and head.
And that's the end of the fight! Steven Charlton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Charlton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
