Andrade comes to the cage accompanied by MC Melqui e MC Kekel - Piranha. El Murid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcelo Andrade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, El Murid!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murid showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Andrade.
Murid appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Andrade moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Andrade tries to bum rush Murid with a series of wild strikes but Murid uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Andrade moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like El Murid has been cut.

Murid lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Andrade tries to kick Murid off in order to stand up. Murid Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Murid remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Let's hope that Murid has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Murid goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Andrade rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Murid's guard! Nice work there by Andrade!
Murid has control of Andrade's left arm, preventing Andrade from doing any damage.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Murid.

Murid has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Andrade is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Murid.

Murid is controlling Andrade's position as best he can from this difficult position.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcelo Andrade will probably get the nod.

Andrade gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Murid to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Murid passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Murid has an Americana. Andrade didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Murid is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Murid hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). El Murid!
