The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonnell scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Melvin Gustin has been cut.
Gustin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gustin doesn't manage to clinch there - McDonnell circles away.
Gustin wants to clinch.
McDonnell fires out a quick counter leg kick but Gustin just manages to avoid it.
McDonnell scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gustin doesn't seem bothered though.
Gustin tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gustin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McDonnell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
McDonnell slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDonnell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDonnell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gustin manages to avoid it.
McDonnell lands with a nice body kick.
Jab, jab by McDonnell - just one landing.
Gustin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McDonnell throws a body kick that misses.

McDonnell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McDonnell closes the distance and clinches.
McDonnell lands a right hand.
Gustin throws a punch but it's blocked by McDonnell.
Gustin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gustin looks to land a combination but McDonnell avoids it well.
McDonnell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gustin is rocked!
McDonnell seems to be stalking Gustin here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Gustin drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
