PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Sosa (ranked 23995 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Forman (ranked 5940 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Forman will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jerome Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jorge Forman!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Forman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sosa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Forman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sosa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sosa wants to stand up but Forman is controlling him.
Forman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sosa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Forman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sosa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sosa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sosa!

Forman is looking for a sweep.
Forman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sosa off and has taken his back!
Forman is looking to control Sosa but Sosa is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Sosa wants to control his opponent's hands but Forman gets his hands free.
Forman is looking to control Sosa but Sosa is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Sosa is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Forman is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Sosa really is a fat lump.
Sosa trying to get back to his feet but Forman is in full control for now.
Sosa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sosa is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Forman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sosa sprawls well initially but Forman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Forman is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Sosa reverses the position - he's now on top in Forman's guard.
Sosa wants to stand but Forman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Forman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sosa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sosa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Forman looks winded!

Sosa gets to his feet - Forman follows without any prompting.
Sosa avoids the head kick by Forman.
Sosa is looking to counter the offense by Forman and move into the clinch.

Sosa looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Sosa is standing up over Forman. Forman looks to escape but Sosa dives into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Forman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jorge Forman will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sosa shoots in for a takedown but Forman shows good takedown defense.
Jorge Forman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Forman forces Sosa back against the cage and clinches.

Sosa successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sosa keeping full guard, as Forman tries to pass.
Forman won't allow Sosa to sweep him here.
Sosa is wriggling around but Forman manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Forman postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sosa to stand up.

Forman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sosa is trying to defend but Forman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Forman stalling away here and it's allowed Sosa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Forman is breathing heavily.
Forman trying to control but Sosa is working from the bottom.
Forman is looking to advance position but Sosa has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Sosa controlling from mount.
Sosa is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Forman tries to hold on but Sosa postures up.

Sosa stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Sosa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sosa wants to stand and escape but Forman is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sosa trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Forman looking to improve position, pressing down on Sosa's thigh with his hand. Sosa seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Forman paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Forman's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Sosa picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jerome Sosa!
