Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ion gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gobert.
Gobert has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gobert fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gobert is trying to pull guard but Ion has him pressed against the cage.
Gobert has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ion is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ion tries to clinch but Gobert moves out of range.
Gobert unleashes a big counter combination but Ion bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Gobert is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've been hearing good reports from Ion's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Ion stops Gobert from getting back to his feet.
Ion looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gobert with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ion is keen to just control but Gobert is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Gobert counters with a straight right hand.
