Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lord Lobo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lord Lobo!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lobo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lobo is looking to take a break and control but Stewart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lobo prevents Stewart from improving his position.

Stewart makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Lobo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stewart is trying to stand.

Lobo wants to stand up but Stewart has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Stewart tries to get to full guard but Lobo has control of the leg.

Lobo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Stewart shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stewart is breathing heavily.
Stewart doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lobo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stewart's guard.
Lobo's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
I looks like Lobo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Stewart is looking to stand up but Lobo isn't so interested in that idea.
Lobo content to stall in guard here.
Stewart looking to control.
Lobo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stewart wants to get back to his feet but Lobo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lobo passes Stewart's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Stewart is trying to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lobo connects with a nice short shot to Stewart's temple.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lobo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Stewart is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Lobo prevents Stewart from getting the reversal.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lobo content just to control the position here.
Lobo tries to control but Stewart wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lord Lobo dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Lobo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
No joy there for Stewart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lobo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lobo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
No luck for Lobo with that takedown attempt.
Stewart lands with a nice combination. Lobo backs away looking to recover.
Lobo avoids a punch combination nicely.
A combination from Stewart does no damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stewart forces Lobo back against the cage and clinches.
Stewart tries to break the clinch but Lobo is controlling the position.

Stewart goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lobo prevents it.

Stewart just misses with a punch to the body.

Stewart is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lobo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Stewart pushes Lobo off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lobo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stewart is trying to control but can't.
Stewart wants to get back to his feet.
Stewart moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Lobo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stewart circles away.
Mike Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lord Lobo.
Stewart throws a series of punches but Lobo moves out of range.

Stewart is trying to strike from the bottom but Lobo has passed into full mount.
Stewart is looking to get to half guard.
Lobo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lobo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stewart is on top in guard.

Lobo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lobo pushes Stewart off and gets back to his feet.
Stewart doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lobo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lobo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lobo wants to pass the guard but Stewart is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lord Lobo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Lobo tries to keep at a distance but Stewart has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stewart slows down the pace here.
Stewart wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lobo has him pressed against the cage.
Stewart wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Stewart pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lobo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stewart circles away quickly and effectively.

Lobo prevents Stewart from getting back to his feet.

Lobo stands and steps away. Stewart gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lobo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stewart is trying to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stewart is looking to control Lobo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stewart avoid being mounted?
Lobo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Stewart tries to kick Lobo off but Lobo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lobo is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Stewart is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lobo sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Lobo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stewart doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lobo.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lobo moves nicely into side control.
Stewart gets back to half guard.

Lobo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stewart is just riding it out for now. Lobo eventually gives up the hold.

Stewart kicks Lobo off and gets back to his feet.
Lobo tries for a takedown but Stewart sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mike Stewart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stewart closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Stewart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stewart tries to clinch up.
Stewart keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stewart throws a head kick that misses

and Lobo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lobo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lobo won't allow Stewart to get back to his feet.
Lobo forces his way into half guard.
Stewart wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lord Lobo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lobo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
