Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raul Ewing (ranked 8043 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deshawn Stevenson (ranked 7267 p4p, 0 weight class). Deshawn Stevenson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raul Ewing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deshawn Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevenson gets a clinch.
Ewing throws an elbow but it misses.
Stevenson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Stevenson has Ewing pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stevenson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ewing tumbling to the mat - Stevenson dives into Ewing's guard.
Stevenson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stevenson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ewing wants to get back to his feet but Stevenson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ewing doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Stevenson throws a big right hand that misses.

Stevenson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Ewing tries to keep at a distance but Stevenson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stevenson is looking to break free of the clinch but Ewing has double underhooks.

Stevenson gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Ewing wants to improve his position but Stevenson is controlling well.

Stevenson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ewing to stand up.

Stevenson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ewing tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stevenson is in Ewing's guard.

Stevenson stops Ewing from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ewing trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Stevenson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ewing, up you get!
Ewing could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ewing gets tackled into the cage by Stevenson. Stevenson maintains the clinch.
Stevenson has Ewing pushed against the cage.
Stevenson lands with a left to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stevenson blocks the elbow strike.
Ewing is trying to break the clinch but Stevenson is controlling him.

Ewing looking to throw knees to the head but Stevenson is blocking nicely.
Stevenson blocks a body shot from Ewing.

Stevenson gets control of Ewing's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stevenson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ewing is looking to stand up but Stevenson won't let him.
Ewing throws a big right hand that misses.
Ewing throws a strike but Stevenson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stevenson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ewing might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stevenson stays in close to Ewing's body and controls the position.

Stevenson gets to his feet - Ewing follows without any prompting.

Ewing drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stevenson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stevenson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stevenson!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevenson gets to mount! Ewing was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Stevenson clinches up against the cage.
Ewing blocks a body shot from Stevenson.
Ewing misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ewing tries to land a knee to the head but Stevenson blocks with his arms.

Stevenson gets control of Ewing's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stevenson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Ewing postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ewing won't allow Stevenson to get back to his feet.
Ewing lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stevenson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ewing wants to stand up but Stevenson is controlling him.
Stevenson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ewing is striking from the bottom but Stevenson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Ewing wants to improve his position but Stevenson is controlling well.
Stevenson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stevenson prevents Ewing from standing back up.

Ewing keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Stevenson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ewing with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ewing closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stevenson did well to prevent Ewing getting side control.

Stevenson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ewing is on him like a limpet, forcing Stevenson back against the cage.

Stevenson wriggles free and stands up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ewing enables Stevenson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ewing manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stevenson lands a couple of digs.
Ewing throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Stevenson controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ewing tries to strike from the bottom.
Stevenson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stevenson wants to control from the top but Ewing keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deshawn Stevenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Stevenson feints and as Ewing raises his hands in defense, Stevenson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ewing wants to sweep but no luck.
Ewing trying to strike off his back.
Stevenson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ewing is striking from the bottom but Stevenson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Stevenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ewing, pushing him back against the cage.

Stevenson jumps into guard, dragging Ewing to the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ewing accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stevenson wants to hit a switch here but Ewing passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Stevenson there!
Stevenson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Stevenson is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ewing is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ewing thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Stevenson wants to get back to his feet.
Ewing throws some wild stikes that Stevenson manages to avoid easily.
Stevenson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ewing moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Stevenson has worked his arm free - good work by Stevenson!

Ewing looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Stevenson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ewing's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Deshawn Stevenson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Stevenson kicks Ewing off and gets back to his feet.

Ewing takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Raul Ewing has been cut.
Stevenson misses with the combination.
Deshawn Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevenson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Stevenson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ewing tries to clinch but Stevenson moves out of range.
Raul Ewing is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stevenson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Stevenson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ewing is looking to get back to his feet here but Stevenson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ewing's back.

Well Stevenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
