Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Tamega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rock has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rock gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tamega tries to free his leg and advance position but Rock is retaining full guard. Tamega sitting in guard, not really doing much. Tamega could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tamega is controlling him. Tamega controls from within his opponent's guard. Tamega prevents Rock from getting back to his feet. Tamega seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tamega stops Rock from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tamega stays in close to Rock's body and controls the position. Rock is looking to sweep but instead, Tamega has passed into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Guilherme Tamega just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Tamega fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Tamega persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tamega is taking a breather. Rock says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Tamega is looking for a kimura but Rock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tamega to get the leverage. Still in half guard, Tamega seems content to control. Tamega is thwarting Rock's attempts to control the position. Rock wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tamega content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Guilherme Tamega just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Tamega circles away from the clinch attempt and Tamega counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rock's guard now. Rock is trying to keep Tamega in close.
Rock being controlled here, momentarily. Tamega's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
