Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Poole (ranked 24961 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brian (ranked 6592 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Brian!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poole fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James Brian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brian looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Brian shoots in and bounces Poole off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poole working a defensive guard here.
Poole pulls Brian in close to his closed guard and prevents Brian from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poole really is a fat lump.

Poole has his hands on Brian's head, controlling the position.
Brian postures up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brian looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Poole is defended easily by Brian.
Brian let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Poole throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brian tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Poole is in Brian's guard.
Poole in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Poole is looking to stand up but Brian won't let him.

Poole postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Poole wanted to stand there but Brian had control of the position.
Poole trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Poole stands and steps away. Brian gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Poole is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brian sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Brian throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Poole tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brian is in Poole's guard.

Poole is looking for a triangle but Brian pushes his legs off easily.

Poole darts in looking for a takedown but Brian gets double underhooks and turns Poole into the cage.

Poole bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Brian darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Brian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Poole does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Poole tries to lock up and control but Brian gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Poole tries to reverse the position but Brian maintains control.

Poole quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Poole shoots in but Brian avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And Brian tries to counter it with a takedown but Poole pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Poole closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brian quickly recovers to half guard.

Well, if Brian is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Brian. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
