Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Braddock!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Braddock misses with a wild combination.
Braddock lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jacobs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Braddock lands a right hook to the body.
Braddock cracks a nice hook into Jacobs's ribs.
Braddock lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jacobs dives in for a single leg takedown but Braddock sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Rodney Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Braddock sends Jacobs crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Braddock is motioning to the referee to let Jacobs up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Braddock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Jacobs gets tackled into the cage by Braddock. Braddock maintains the clinch.
Braddock scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Braddock takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Braddock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Braddock sends Jacobs crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Braddock is motioning to the referee to let Jacobs up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Braddock as he jumps to the side.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Jacobs.
Jacobs takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Braddock jabs at Jacobs's body.

Braddock feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jacobs sprawling to the canvas! Jacobs rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Braddock finish him?!
Braddock connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Jacobs covering up! Braddock comes in with a big uppercut and Jacobs goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Braddock!
John Braddock was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
