Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Anderson (ranked 2809 p4p, 360 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 4114 p4p, 497 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Anderson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Dux pivots, looking for a leg kick but Anderson is out of range and Dux settles back down.
Dux fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Anderson on the side of the head.

Anderson throws a head kick that misses.
Anderson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dux manages to avoid it.

Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Anderson showed some decent athleticism there.
Anderson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dux looks like he's trying to stand up.

Anderson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dux is trying to stand.
Anderson controlling the pace.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Anderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dux for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson tried to score with a low kick but Dux checks it.

Dux has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dux takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Anderson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dux to the ground. Anderson is now in Dux's guard.
Anderson wants to pass the guard but Dux is keeping the position.
Dux can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anderson controls the pace.

Anderson forces his way into half guard.
Anderson lands strikes from half guard.
Dux wants to get back to his feet.
Anderson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Dux is trying to stand up here but Anderson is controlling him well.
Anderson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dux with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dux is trying to stand.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dux misses with an uppercut.
Anderson shoots in but no luck this time.
Dux tries a low kick but Anderson avoids it.
Anderson avoids the head kick by Dux.
Dux pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and Anderson counters with a three punch combo that has Dux backing up. Dux nods at Anderson to acknowledge the strikes.
Anderson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dux. Anderson does a little dance to reset his feet.
A head kick misses from Dux.
A punch combination from Anderson misses.
Anderson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dux circles away quickly and effectively.
Dux lands a head kick. Anderson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Dux throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anderson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Anderson wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brownie Anderson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dux lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dux avoids the head kick by Anderson.
Sloppy strikes from Anderson. Those never looked like landing.
Dux steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Anderson.
Dux throws a head kick that misses.
Anderson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Anderson clinches up with Dux and pushes him back against the cage.

Anderson wants a takedown.

Dux breaks the clinch.
Dux throws a hook but Anderson blocks it.
Anderson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Anderson throws a leg kick which misses Dux's front leg but catches the back leg as Dux tries to avoid it.
Dux swings for the body but Anderson moves out of range.

Anderson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Anderson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Anderson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dux is defending well.
Anderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dux gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dux tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Anderson avoids the elbow strike from Dux, against the cage.
Anderson pushes Dux back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Anderson lands a takedown into guard.
Dux is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Brownie Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dux pushes Anderson off and gets back to his feet.
Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dux sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.

Anderson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dux misses with a low kick as Anderson jumps back.

Anderson clinches up with Dux and pushes him back against the cage.
Anderson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dux fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Brownie Anderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A big right from Dux misses.
Anderson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dux looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Dux stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Dux is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Anderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A close second round but Frank Dux will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Dux throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dux looks to land a body kick but Anderson moved away.
Anderson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Dux blocks a head kick by Anderson.
A little jabbing left from Dux on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dux misses with a straight left.
Dux cracks Anderson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dux throws a lazy right hand but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Frank Dux seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dux misses with a shot to the body
and Anderson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dux throws a head kick that misses.
Anderson throws a low kick but Dux avoids it.
Dux counters with a body kick.
The fighters circling - Dux throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Anderson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anderson decides to stand back up.
Anderson fails with a takedown attempt.
Dux swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dux swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Dux shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Anderson sets himself, and Dux steps forward looking for the clinch! Anderson avoids it this time.

Anderson throws a push kick but Dux slaps the foot to one side.
Dux misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dux circles away from the clinch attempt.
Anderson moves out of range of the body kick.
Dux misses with a looping left.
Dux dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Dux counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brownie Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anderson has Dux pressed against the cage, preventing Dux from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dux pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dux misses with a low kick.
Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dux sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.

Anderson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dux sprawls well initially but Anderson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anderson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Anderson prevents Dux from standing back up.
Anderson controlling the action here.
Anderson continues to stall.
Anderson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dux is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anderson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dux is surviving well by controlling Anderson's body position as best he can.

Dux is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dux wants to try and get back to his feet.
Anderson controlling from the full mount.
Further stalling from Anderson.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Anderson is stinking the place up with his stalling.
You get the feeling that Dux really doesn't like being in this position too much.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brownie Anderson.
I think Anderson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Frank Dux tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
