PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sblaim Szymar (ranked 6238 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Adams (ranked 5638 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szymar lets loose with a powerful body kick. Adams will feel that in the morning.
Adams scores with a one two! Szymar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Sblaim Szymar has been cut.
Adams defending well as Szymar loads up on a big left hand.

Adams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Szymar tries a knee to the head but Adams blocks it.
Szymar has Adams pressed against the cage, preventing Adams from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Szymar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Adams gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Szymar shoots in looking for a takedown. Adams tries to sprawl out of it but Szymar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Adams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Szymar tries a head kick but it misses.

Adams has Szymar up against the cage in a clinch.
Szymar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Adams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Szymar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Adams is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sblaim Szymar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Adams clinches up with Szymar and pushes him back against the cage.

Adams wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Szymar has him pressed against the cage.
Szymar is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Adams to keep the fight standing.

Adams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Adams misses with a low kick.
Szymar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adams tries to avoid it but Szymar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adams to the ground. Adams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chris Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Szymar is breathing heavily.

Adams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Szymar circles away.
Adams displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Adams throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Oh Szymar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Adams has managed to clinch.

Adams drags the fight down to the ground.

Adams pushes Szymar off and gets back to his feet.
Adams changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Adams pushes Szymar up against the cage in a clinch.

Adams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Adams plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Szymar swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Szymar face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
