PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Lobo (ranked 1538 p4p, 207 weight class) and Donnie Felterbush (ranked 1059 p4p, 159 weight class). Lobo comes to the cage accompanied by Hayden James - Embrace. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Antonio Lobo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnie Felterbush!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lobo moves in looking to clinch but Felterbush pushes him off.
Lobo tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lobo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Felterbush manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Felterbush swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Lobo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Felterbush.
Felterbush throws a right hand that misses
and Lobo counters with a thumping low kick.
Felterbush throws a leg kick but Lobo checks it.
Lobo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Scotty's Yard in the buildup to the fight.
Lobo is looking to score with low kicks.
Felterbush jabs Lobo to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Felterbush closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lobo to the mat! Lobo manages to get full guard.
Felterbush preventing the sweep.
Felterbush postures up and lands a big shot to Lobo's brow.
Lobo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lobo is working hard here to advance position.

Lobo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Felterbush is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Lobo is trying to control the position but Felterbush postures up.
Lobo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Felterbush is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Felterbush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lobo pulls Felterbush in close to his closed guard and prevents Felterbush from doing any damage or advancing position.
Lobo wants to sweep but no luck.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lobo holds on and takes a little breather.
Felterbush stands up over Lobo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Felterbush throws a big elbow that misses.
Lobo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Felterbush won't allow Lobo to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lobo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lobo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Felterbush can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Felterbush content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Felterbush is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Lobo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Felterbush trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lobo wants to sweep but no luck.

Lobo is looking for a triangle but Felterbush pushes his legs off easily.
Felterbush working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lobo's head.
Lobo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Felterbush with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lobo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lobo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Felterbush is not content to let Lobo control the position.
Felterbush tries to roll over but Lobo keeps him under control.
Felterbush regains full guard. Nicely done.

Lobo stands and throws Felterbush's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Felterbush stops Lobo from passing to mount.
Lobo advances to full mount.
Felterbush working to try and regain half guard.
Lobo moves to the back.

Lobo has got one arm under Felterbush's chin. This could be trouble... Felterbush trying to control the other hand but Lobo gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Felterbush has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Antonio Lobo!
In his post fight interview, Antonio Lobo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
