The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rram throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Manuel. Rram looks to land a combination but Manuel avoids it well. Rram has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Rram misses with a right hand and Manuel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rram misses with a double jab
and Manuel counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Manuel manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Manuel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rram can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Manuel seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Manuel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rram doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Manuel is tightening it up a little... Rram has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rram reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rram taps out! Nice BJJ there by Manuel!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Peter Manuel! Peter Manuel seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
