Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sven Svensson (ranked 779 p4p, 111 weight class) and Nam Ho (ranked 1335 p4p, 181 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sven Svensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nam Ho !
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ho throws a body shot but no joy.
Ho slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Svensson throws a leg kick but Ho sees it coming and moves out of range.
Nam Ho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ho throws a left and a right that both miss

and Svensson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

As Ho backs away, Svensson returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Ho cracks Svensson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Ho tries to work over Svensson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ho swings wildly with an uppercut but Svensson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ho has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Svensson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Ho can turn it around.

Svensson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ho uses from the top position.

Nam Ho dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ho has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ho will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Svensson fires out a quick counter leg kick but Ho just manages to avoid it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Svensson avoids a punch combination nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Svensson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ho is now in half guard.

Svensson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Svensson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Svensson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ho throws a hook to the side of Svensson's head but Svensson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Svensson looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Nam Ho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Svensson ducks right into an uppercut from Ho .
Ho might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ho checks a leg kick.

Nam Ho seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Svensson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ho walks away with a smile on his face. Svensson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ho lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sven Svensson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ho feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Svenssons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Svensson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ho throws a hook but Svensson blocks it.
Svensson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Svensson.
Nice defenses there by Svensson.
Svensson connects with a crisp jab.
Svensson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ho manages to avoid it.

Ho now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Ho throws a right hand that Svensson ducks under and follows up with a left that Svensson also avoids with ease.
Svensson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Ho works the jab nicely.

Ho feints a jab promting Svensson to slip. Ho then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Svensson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Ho throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ho is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Svensson.

Nam Ho is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Ho lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ho .
Ho scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Svensson doesn't seem bothered though.

Nam Ho comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
