Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caio Bottura (ranked 1230 p4p, 152 weight class) and Solomon Slater (ranked 3541 p4p, 384 weight class). Bottura comes to the cage accompanied by Face The Pain. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caio Bottura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Solomon Slater! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Slater. Bottura does a little dance to reset his feet. Slater just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBottura. Bottura misses with a wild body shot. Slater looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Bottura takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Slater throws a lazy right hand but Bottura sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bottura has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: House of Gladiators in the buildup to the fight. Bottura dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bottura scoring well with a low kick there.
Slater finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bottura scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Slater doesn't seem bothered though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bottura moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Slater misses with a straight left. Bottura lands a head kick. Slater smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Bottura forces Slater back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater has had enough of the clinch but Bottura keeps him there for the moment. Bottura tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bottura tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slater just stands there and leans against the cage. Slater misses with a punch to the body.
Slater throws a head punch that misses. Slater can't break the clinch.
Slater wants to get back to striking at distance but Bottura won't allow it.
Bottura is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Slater to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caio Bottura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bottura fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bottura manages to pull guard.
Slater gets to his feet. Bottura looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Bottura swings for the body but Slater moves out of range.
Bottura gets a clinch. Bottura drags the fight down to the ground.
Slater wanted to stand there but Bottura had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slater decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bottura, up you get! A decent looking body kick lands there for Bottura. Slater lands with an overhand left. Bottura clinches. Bottura manages to pull guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bottura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Slater gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bottura trying to control the position.
Slater must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Slater wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Bottura's closed guard. He's half up but Bottura has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Bottura pivots and extends the arm, Slater falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Bottura! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Caio Bottura! A very excited looking Caio Bottura made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
