Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iggy Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Franco!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco throws a right and a left that both miss.
Franco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steve as he jumps to the side.
Steve is looking for a counter combo.
Franco slips a jab and a cross from Steve.
Franco swinging wildly here.
Franco moves to clinch but Steve breaks away
and Steve counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Franco gets a double leg takedown into Steve's guard.
Steve wants to get back to his feet but Franco is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Franco is working Steve over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Franco in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Franco postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Franco throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Steve wants to stand up but Franco is controlling him.
Franco wants to pass the guard but Steve is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Franco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Franco advances to half guard.

Steve is defending against the submission attempts here by Franco.
Franco sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Steve defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steve avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Franco.
Franco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Franco is trying to work for a kimura but Steve is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steve does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Steve on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steve tries to get out of the position.

Franco has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Steve defend it? Franco steps over the head and cranks it - Steve is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Franco!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Franco!
Iggy Steve spoke after the fight, saying 'Sorry,i've got an idiot manager'.
