Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Brennan (ranked 24857 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ham Savage (ranked 5606 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonah Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ham Savage!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage throws a right hand that Brennan ducks under and follows up with a left that Brennan also avoids with ease.
Brennan tries to clinch up.

Savage gets the takedown into side control.
Brennan tries to bench press Savage off him but Savage keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brennan wants to control but Savage postures up.
Savage tries to move to mount but Brennan blocks the move with his legs.
Brennan is trying to control Savage's posture but Savage avoids it.
Savage in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Savage is putting a hurting on Brennan here, landing some big shots from side control.
Brennan wants to control but Savage postures up.

You can see the frustration on Brennan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brennan is letting Savage control him for a moment.
Check out the look on Savage's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Savage stands up.

Savage gets a takedown into half guard.
Savage throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Savage is thwarting Brennan's attempts to control the position.
Savage takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Brennan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Savage is working away from the top position though.
Savage is controlling the pace.
Brennan is looking to control Savage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brennan avoid being mounted?

Savage tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brennan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Savage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brennan is just riding it out for now. Savage eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Savage tries to pass to full mount but Brennan defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Savage slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ham Savage dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Savage misses with a head kick.
Brennan appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Savage works Brennan's body with a nice hook.
Ham Savage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Savage dives in and scores a takedown into Brennan's guard.
Savage is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Savage stands and throws Brennan's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Savage decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Savage shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brennan is trying to defend but Savage finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Brennan is rocked!
Brennan is trying to maintain the position but Savage is very close to passing his half guard.
Savage controlling the pace.
Savage looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brennan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Oh Brennan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Savage perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Savage is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Brennan is hurt! He's hurt bad - Savage fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Brennan from any more punishment! Congratulations to Savage! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ham Savage!
