Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Lee (ranked 8899 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Paddy (ranked 3326 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Paddy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Paddy!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paddy misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Paddy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lee.
Paddy dodges the punch combination from Lee.
Paddy tries a head kick but it misses.
Paddy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lee blocks a low kick nicely.
Lee seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Paddy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Paddy is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Lee counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lee connects with a right hand. Paddy shakes it off.
Paddy throws a push kick but Lee slaps the foot to one side.
Lee seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Paddy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paddy off to one side.
Tony Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Paddy.

Lee was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

This has been an exciting period of action!

and Lee counters with a stiff right hand.
Lee feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Paddys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Paddy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it.
Paddy misses with a low kick as Lee jumps back.
Paddy wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance.
Lee seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Lee throws a right and a left that Paddy avoids nicely.
Lee swings for the body but Paddy moves out of range.
Paddy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tony Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Paddy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Paddy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lee finds it's way round the side to connect with Paddy's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looked like Lee wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Paddy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lee is staying active underneath Paddy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Paddy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Paddy gets slowly back to his feet.

Paddy is trying to control the action in half guard but Lee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Paddy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Paddy is pressing down on Lee's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lee is holding on for now.

Paddy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Paddy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lee is looking to escape.

Paddy is working for a kimura but Lee is defending it quite comfortably.

Lee has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Paddy is on him like a limpet, forcing Lee back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Paddy throws a shot to the body.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Max Paddy will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Paddy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Paddy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Paddy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lee is looking to stand up but Paddy isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Paddy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lee on his heels. He'll look to pass Lee's guard now, I'm sure.

The fight stays on the outside here - Paddy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tony Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Paddy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Paddy clobbers Lee with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Lee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Paddy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lee scores with a one two! Paddy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Lee misses with a wild combination.

Paddy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lee's half guard.
Lee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Paddy can do to turn this around?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paddy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Lee.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
