Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between foul monty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaxson DuBrul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
monty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
DuBrul closes the distance and clinches up with monty, looking for a takedown. DuBrul pushes monty against the cage but monty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
monty shoots and misses
so DuBrul counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
monty looking to hit a scissor sweep but DuBrul is one step ahead there.
DuBrul trying to control the position from guard on top but monty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
monty is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

DuBrul loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
DuBrul is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
monty wants to sweep here but DuBrul controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
DuBrul darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

DuBrul wants to lay and pray for a moment but monty keeps working.
DuBrul is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and monty defends it well.

DuBrul is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so monty is just riding it out for now. DuBrul eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
DuBrul seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but monty does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
DuBrul has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
DuBrul closes this distance looking for a takedown but monty circles away.
DuBrul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. DuBrul showed some decent athleticism there.

DuBrul uses his free foot to push down on monty's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for monty.

DuBrul is going olschool here, as he tries to force monty to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so monty shrugs it off.
DuBrul working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. monty looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by DuBrul! Submission of the night perhaps?
