Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reinaldo Cox (ranked 9235 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Cardoso (ranked 3919 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Reinaldo Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Cardoso!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Cardoso looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cardoso shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cox napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cardoso tries for a kimura but Cox is defending well.
Cox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cox tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cardoso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cox is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cardoso has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Cardoso works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Cardoso stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cardoso.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cardoso lands an elbow.
Cardoso cracks Cox with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cox wants to get back to his feet but Cardoso drags him back down.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cardoso wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cox, who protects the arm well.

Cardoso decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cox to his feet.

Cardoso closes the distance and clinches.
Cox lands an uppercut.
Cox takes a shot to the head.
Cox misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cardoso.

Cardoso has Cox pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cardoso pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cox tumbling to the mat - Cardoso dives into Cox's guard.

Cox scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Cardoso moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cardoso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Andre Cardoso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox swats away the attempt to clinch by Cardoso.

Cardoso gets a clinch.
Cardoso is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Cardoso has Cox pushed against the cage.
Cardoso blocks a body shot from Cox.
Cox looking to slow down the pace here.
Cardoso lands a hook that snaps the head of Cox backwards.
Cox scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Cox really is a fat lump.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Look low, kick high! Cardoso uses the oldest trick in the book to send Cox tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Cardoso is absolutely delighted - when Cox wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
