Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Joe (ranked 5995 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Teller (ranked 5062 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pat Teller!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Teller as he jumps to the side.
Joe moves in looking to clinch but Teller pushes him off.
Teller shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Joe wants to clinch.
Joe tries to clinch up
and Teller counters with a lovely shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe misses with a takedown
and Teller counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Joe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teller tries to avoid it but Joe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teller to the ground. Teller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teller swats away the attempt to clinch by Joe.
Teller feints the counter takedown.
Joe dodges the punch combination from Teller.
Joe dives in and grabs Teller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Teller pushes down on Joe's head and hops out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Teller.

Teller closes the distance and pushes Joe back into the cage.
Joe can't break the clinch.
Joe missing with knees to the body.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teller lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Joe is trying to stall.

Joe jumps into guard, dragging Teller to the mat.
Teller is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Joe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Teller sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Joe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Joe is trying to hold Teller in close to prevent damage but Teller has managed to pass into half guard.
Teller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Joe trying to control but Teller postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Teller tries to pass to full mount but Joe defends it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Joe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Teller on the ground.

Teller is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Joe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Joe looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Joe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Joe tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Joe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Teller tries to bum rush Joe with a series of wild strikes but Joe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Teller dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Joe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Teller rushes Joe and presses him up against the cage.
Joe is looking to take this one to the mat.
Teller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Joe prevents the takedown attempt.
Joe tries for a takedown but Teller manages to get underhooks.
Joe is trying to break the clinch but Teller has him pressed against the cage.
Teller drops down looking for an ankle pick but Joe pulls his leg out and moves away.
Joe fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Teller has managed to clinch.
Teller goes for a takedown attempt but Joe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Teller is defended easily by Joe.

Joe wants to clinch.
Joe tries to clinch but Teller moves out of range.
Teller tries to counter with a clinch but Joe shakes him off and moves away.

and Teller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Joe swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Teller counters with a two punch combo.

Joe gets tackled into the cage by Teller. Teller maintains the clinch.

Joe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Joe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Teller counters with a three punch combo that has Joe backing up. Joe nods at Teller to acknowledge the strikes.
Joe Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joe dives in for a single leg takedown but Teller sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Teller clinches up with Joe and pushes him back against the cage.
Teller throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Joe avoids a wild elbow strike from Teller.
Joe tries to pull guard but Teller won't allow it.

Teller jumps into guard, dragging Joe to the mat.

Teller throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Teller thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Joe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Teller is pulling down on Joe's head. It's preventing any offense from Joe, at least for the moment.

Teller is looking for a triangle but Joe pushes his legs off easily.
Joe wants to stand and escape but instead Teller has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Teller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Teller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Teller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Teller is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Joe throws his legs up looking for a submission but Teller uses it to pass to side control.

Teller stands up and beckons Joe to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A shot to the liver by Teller. Beautiful body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Teller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Teller wants to sweep here but Joe controlling him for the moment.
Joe looking to sit in guard and control but Teller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Teller missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Teller is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Joe, up you get!

Teller takes the fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teller is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Joe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Teller just stands there and leans against the cage.
Joe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Teller avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Joe is trying to break free.

Teller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pat Teller seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Joe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Teller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Teller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Teller prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Joe fails to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joe misses with a punch on the inside.
Teller goes for a takedown attempt but Joe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Teller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Joe pinned against the cage. Joe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Joe misses with a body shot
enabling Teller to counter with a crisp jab.
Joe throws a leg kick
and Teller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Teller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Teller somewhat.
Teller keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Teller rushes Joe and presses him up against the cage.

Teller breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Teller throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Joe.
Teller slaps away a takedown attempt from Joe, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Teller closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Joe did well to prevent Teller getting side control.
Teller content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Pat Teller has got the better of the ground game so far.
Teller uses his free foot to push down on Joe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Joe.

Teller looking to control and managing it successfully.
Joe wants to control but Teller is having none of it.
Teller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Joe keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Joe Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pat Teller is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Teller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
