Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Fuentes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Nakamoto! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Nakamoto.
Fuentes clinches up against the cage. Nakamoto goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fuentes prevents it.
Fuentes drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nakamoto trying to control but Fuentes is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakamoto is pushing down on Fuentes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fuentes is fighting to maintain full guard but Nakamoto has managed to sneak the leg through. Fuentes gets full guard. Fuentes keeping moving, preventing Nakamoto from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fuentes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nakamoto is one step ahead there. Fuentes trying to control the position.
Nakamoto wants to stand but Fuentes is controlling his posture from full guard. Fuentes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nakamoto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fuentes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakamoto's guard. Fuentes postures up.
Fuentes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Nakamoto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fuentes. Nakamoto looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fuentes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nakamoto's head. Nakamoto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fuentes lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Nakamoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Nakamoto is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Fuentes has his hands clasped together but Nakamoto extends and breaks Fuentes's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Nakamoto.
