Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Abel Lynn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scot Thepins! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thepins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lynn, pushing him back against the cage. Thepins gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lynn regains guard.
Lynn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thepins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thepins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thepins working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lynn's head. Thepins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It looks like Thepins might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Thepins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Thepins is looking to work some ground and pound but Lynn has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thepins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lynn trying to control the position.
Lynn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lynn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thepins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lynn. Thepins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lynn is working away from the top position though. Thepins trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Lynn manages to pass to mount!
Thepins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Thepins pushes Lynn off and gets back to his feet. Lynn tries to clinch but Thepins moves out of range. Thepins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Lynn pushes Thepins off but Thepins dives into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thepins decides to stand back up. Thepins steps back and let's Lynn get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thepins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lynn is trying to defend but Thepins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lynn pushes Thepins off but Thepins dives into side control.
Lynn prevents Thepins from moving into mount. Thepins controls the position. Thepins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lynn tries to improve position but can't. Lynn looking for a sweep but Thepins has passed into full mount! Oh no! Thepins get's back to his feet. Thepins works Lynn's body with a nice hook. Lynn is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thepins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lynn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Thepins looks up at the clock and then as Lynn takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thepins smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lynn tries to bench press Thepins off him but Thepins keeps the position. Thepins stands up. Thepins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Thepins missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Thepins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lynn sees it coming and defends easily. Lynn controlling the position well. Thepins decides to stand and escape the position. Thepins closes the distance and pushes Lynn back into the cage. Thepins wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Thepins scores with a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thepins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lynn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lynn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lynn. Thepins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Thepins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thepins trying to control but Lynn is working from the bottom. Lynn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thepins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Thepins taking a breather here. Thepins working the ground and pound but Lynn is defending the strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A lull in the action here as Thepins stalls from top position. Thepins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lynn has escaped the position, nice work there. Thepins passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lynn!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lynn is squirming around, avoiding Thepins's attempts to control the action. Lynn is looking to improve his position but Thepins isn't that keen on the idea. Thepins looking to secure an arm triangle but Lynn defends it well. Thepins throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Lynn tries to get back to half guard but can't. Thepins looking to control and managing it successfully. Lynn is looking to improve his position but Thepins isn't that keen on the idea. Thepins controlling from mount. Thepins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Thepins has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lynn tries to improve his position but instead Thepins has taken his back! Thepins working for a choke but Lynn is defending well. Thepins patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Lynn manages to reverse the position and now he's in Thepins's guard. Nice work there by Lynn.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thepins is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lynn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thepins defends well. Lynn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lynn wants to hit a switch here but Thepins passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lynn there! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thepins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Let's hope that Thepins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Thepins landing strikes, looking to finish!

Scot Thepins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Abel Lynn's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Oh Lynn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Thepins is struggling to control the position. Thepins misses with a knee strike.

Lynn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thepins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Thepins gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lynn regains guard.

Thepins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lynn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thepins. Still in half guard, Thepins seems content to control. Thepins decides to return to a standing position. A head kick misses from Thepins. Thepins gets a big slam - oh, Lynn is out! Lynn is out! That's a nasty KO!
