Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derk Furkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Dillon! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Furkinson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dillon is fending him off so far but Furkinson persists. Nope, Dillon circles away and we're back to standing. Dillon now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Dillon avoids a punch combination nicely.
A jab from Dillon does it's job there. Furkinson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dillon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Furkinson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dillon defends it nicely. Dillon now looks to counter with a shot at the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derk Furkinson. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Furkinson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dillon connects with a body shot. Dillon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Furkinson is breathing heavily. Furkinson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Furkinson dives in and grabs Dillon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dillon pushes down on Furkinson's head and hops out. It seemed like Dillon was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Dillon steps in with a hook that catches Furkinson right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Dillon follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Furkinson looks absolutely devastated.
