The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess tries to clinch but Short is having none of it.
Hess misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Short scores with a decent looking hook.
Short connects with a right hand. Hess shakes it off.
KJ Short seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Short lands a jab to the head.
Short connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hess shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Short takes the fight into the clinch.
Short gets through Hess's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Short lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Short lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hess backwards.

Short creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Hess with a big uppercut! Hess tries to clinch up but Short pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Hess to the mat! Hess covers up and Short unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
