PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gold T (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Kubiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gold T!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Kubiak!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kubiak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

T feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kubiak keeping moving, preventing T from controlling successfully.
Kubiak is trying to control the position from the bottom.
T will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
T wants to control from the top but Kubiak keeps moving.
Kubiak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in T's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now T is on top in guard.
T throws a strike but Kubiak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
T looking to control.
T looking for a sweep. Not yet T, not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kubiak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
T keeping moving, preventing Kubiak from controlling successfully.
T is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kubiak wants to control from the top but T keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice takedown defense from Kubiak. No joy for T on that attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from T.
T tries for a takedown but Kubiak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gold T. That's going to take a lot out of him.
T is breathing heavily.
Kubiak tries to clinch but T moves out of range.
Kubiak tries to clinch up but T circles away and keeps his distance.
Kubiak misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kubiak shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kubiak showed some decent athleticism there.
Kubiak is controlling the pace.
Kubiak prevents T from improving his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kubiak performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Kubiak scoring with strikes to the body and head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kubiak working over T with some ground and pound. T looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Kubiak trying to control from half guard but T is working away.
Kubiak thows a huge punch but T dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kubiak stalling.

Kubiak is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! T is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Adam Kubiak!
