The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vatschenko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Whitfield sneaks out the side door and pushes Vatschenko away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Whitfield is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vatschenko is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Whitfield to the mat. Whitfield regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
