Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Cox (ranked 9281 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leelee Lee (ranked 5974 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arturo Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leelee Lee!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lee lands in his opponent's guard.
Lee scoring with some ground and pound.

Lee drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cox dives on top into guard.

Lee trying to control the position here.
Cox throwing strikes but missing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cox throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cox postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cox really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cox trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cox trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cox working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lee is trying to control the position but Cox postures up.
Lee looking to control but Cox passes into half guard.
Lee is looking for a sweep. Cox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lee keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lee trying to control but Cox postures up.
Cox will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cox lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cox working over Lee with some ground and pound. Lee looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cox moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Lee.
Lee is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cox connects with a decent elbow.
Cox lands a decent elbow from side control.
Cox has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cox is trying to get an arm triangle but Lee is defending well.
Cox trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.

Lee tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Cox presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Cox scoring with strikes but Lee is staying in there.
Lee gets back to half guard.
Lee taking some punishment here, with Cox in his half guard.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Cox has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Cox with shots to the head and body - Lee looks very uncomfortable down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arturo Cox dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Lee feints and as Cox raises his hands in defense, Lee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cox is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lee presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Cox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lee walks away with a smile on his face. Cox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It appears Cox was looking to counter with a kick there.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lee walks away with a smile on his face. Cox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cox is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lee working the head and body with strikes.

Cox manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lee's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cox manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lee trying to control but Cox is working from the bottom.
Lee postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Lee is posturing up here but Cox has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lee tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lee has to tap! Slick submission there by Cox!
