Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terrence Thornton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jozef Beast!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thornton looks to score with a jab to the body but Beast is just out of range.
Beast throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A quick step to the side and Thornton tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thornton connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Beast fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thornton.

enabling Beast to counter with a crisp jab.
Thornton swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Beast gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Thornton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Thornton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Beast is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Thornton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Beast manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Thornton has Beast in his guard.


Thornton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beast doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Thornton is tightening it up a little... Beast has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Beast reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Beast taps out! Nice BJJ there by Thornton!

Terrence Thornton decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Jozef Beast had this to say: 'I will come back stronger!'.
