PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Randleman (ranked 2144 p4p, 234 weight class) and Joseph Ingle (ranked 3068 p4p, 318 weight class). Ingle is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Peak Times by Switch. Quinton Randleman had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joseph Ingle!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randleman keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ingle gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Randleman makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Randleman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Randleman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ingle's guard.
Ingle wants to stand and escape but Randleman is having none of it.

Randleman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ingle for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Randleman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Randleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Randleman.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Randleman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ingle stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ingle enables Randleman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ingle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Randleman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Randleman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ingle did well to prevent Randleman getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Randleman connects with a nice short shot to Ingle's temple.

Well Randleman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Quinton Randleman decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
