Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Lelis (ranked 5715 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Mulder (ranked 3033 p4p, 270 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mulder's choice of entrance music: Viva la vida. Daniel Mulder will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulder throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lelis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mulder.
Lelis is looking for a counter combo.
Mulder stuns Lelis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Mulder misses the target.
Lelis slips under a jab from Mulder.
Lelis misses with a body shot.
Daniel Mulder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mulder throws out a loose jab but Lelis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mulder throws an overhand right that lands on Lelis's shoulder, as Lelis tries to avoid the shot.
Mulder clobbers Lelis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mulder moves out of range of the body kick from Lelis.
Mulder throws out a counter right but Lelis avoids it with no problem.
Lelis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mulder.
A slow jab from Mulder misses its intended target.
Mulder scores with a shot to the body.
Mulder throws an overhand right that lands on Lelis's shoulder, as Lelis tries to avoid the shot.
Lelis takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mulder moves out of range of the leg kick from Lelis.
Lelis defending well as Mulder loads up on a big left hand.
Mulder throws out a loose jab but Lelis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lelis swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Lelis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mulder's guard.

Lelis wants to pass the guard but Mulder is keeping the position.

Lelis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mulder, up you get!
Mulder moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mulder thuds his right hand into Lelis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mulder throws a shot from downtown. Lelis moves away and avoids it.
Mulder throws an overhand right that lands on Lelis's shoulder, as Lelis tries to avoid the shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Mulder misses the target.

Lelis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Lelis wants to pass to mount but Mulder is defending the position.

Lelis decides to stand and escape the position.
Mulder misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lelis.
Lelis shoots for a takedown but Mulder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mulder misses with a straight right.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mulder darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mulder is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mulder scores with a jab to the head.
Lelis takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Lelis moves out of range as Mulder strikes.

Lelis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mulder's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mulder looks winded!
Lelis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mulder's guard.

Lelis decides to stand and escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lelis or perhaps it was just good defense by Mulder, which made it look bad.
Mulder might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Lelis slips a jab from Mulder.
Lelis was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Lelis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lelis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lelis lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Lelis tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Lelis misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Lelis decides to stand back up. Lelis steps back and let's Mulder get back to his feet.
Lelis moves away from the strike by Mulder.
Daniel Mulder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lelis slips a straight right by Mulder.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mulder just misses with a punch to the body.
Lelis tries to counter by clinching up but Mulder breaks away and moves out of range.
Mulder steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lelis.
Lelis slips under a jab from Mulder.
Lelis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mulder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lelis somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Lelis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mulder throws out a powerful jab.
Lelis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mulder.
Lelis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mulder circles away.
Lelis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mulder is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lelis.
Mulder connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Lelis forces Mulder back against the cage and clinches.

Mulder breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lelis moves into the clinch.
Lelis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mulder walks away with a smile on his face. Lelis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lelis fails with a takedown attempt.
Mulder is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lelis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lelis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mulder avoids it really well and circles away.

Lelis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lelis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lelis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mulder tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lelis manages to move to mount!
Anthony Lelis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lelis throwing strikes here but Mulder is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Lelis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mulder has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mulder is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
