Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Maia! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia has a takedown stuffed. Nice defenses there by Maia. Coronado drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Coronado knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maia on the ground. Maia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Coronado is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Coronado's back instead. Maia looking for the choke from the back. Coronado is really stuck here.
Will Maia go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Coronado rolls, trying to escape but Maia keeps control of the position.
Coronado trying to control the hands but Maia won't let him. Maia looking for the choke from the back. Coronado wants to control his opponent's hands but Maia gets his hands free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Maia is looking for a rear naked choke here but Coronado reverses the position brilliantly into Maia's guard!
Coronado stands and throws Maia's legs to the side, diving into side control. The strikes coming from Coronado are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Coronado in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Coronado wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maia keeps working. Maia can't do much from the bottom here. Maia tries to buck Coronado off but Coronado is having none of it. Coronado is looking to take a break and control but Maia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Coronado lands a few punches from side control. Coronado working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Maia misses the shot to the body. Coronado fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Coronado with a lazy takedown attempt and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Coronado keeping moving, preventing Maia from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Coronado on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Coronado tries to get out of the position. Maia is stalling in the full guard. Maia postures up in Coronado's guard and throws a big left but Coronado blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coronado tries to land a sweep but no joy. Maia trying to control but Coronado is working from the bottom. Coronado pushes Maia off and scrambles back to his feet.
Coronado tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Maia counters with a single leg into guard. Coronado didn't expect that. Coronado looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Maia puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Coronado has hold of Maia's hands but Maia slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Maia is looking for a kimura but Coronado is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maia to get the leverage. Coronado is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Maia is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Maia looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coronado is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maia's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maia's back! Maia turns into Coronado and is now in his guard.
Maia postures up.
Coronado is wriggling around but Maia manages to pass to half guard.
Coronado is breathing heavily. Maia wants to take a breather but Coronado is having none of it. Maia passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Coronado! Coronado is squirming around, avoiding Maia's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Maia dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Coronado. Maia wants to control but Coronado postures up. Maia dodges the ground and pound from Coronado. Maia tries to improve position but can't. Coronado throws a strike aimed at the side of Maia's head but Maia avoids it well. Maia dodges the ground and pound from Coronado.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Maia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coronado has his takedown stuffed and Maia counters with a nice double leg into guard. Maia advances position into side control! You can see the frustration on Coronado's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Maia prevents Coronado from escaping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maia wants to control but Coronado is keeping him busy. Maia landing a few strikes. Maia taking a breather here. Coronado gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coronado tries to kick Maia off in order to stand up. Maia Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Coronado pushes Maia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Maia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Maia advances to full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Maia cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Coronado bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Maia has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Coronado throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coronado trying to control but Maia is working from the bottom. Coronado has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Maia looking for a guillotine here but Coronado defends easily.
Coronado's corner is telling him to maintain position. Coronado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Maia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Coronado, into his guard. Maia pushing down on Coronado's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maia trying to mount his opponent but Coronado defends it. Coronado makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Coronado. Coronado being controlled here, momentarily. Maia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Coronado is keeping the position for now. Coronado is trying to keep Maia in close.
Coronado is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Maia dives into side control.

Daniel Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Coronado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Coronado shoots and misses and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Maia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Coronado tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Maia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Maia wants to control the pace but Coronado is squirming around nicely. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maia is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Maia!
