Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobe Bryan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Jackson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryan throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson checks a low kick from Bryan. Bryan misses with a double jab.
A head kick misses from Bryan. Jackson dodges the punch combination from Bryan.
Jackson lands a really nice looking cross but Bryan seems unphased.
Bryan throws a right and a left that both miss. Bryan closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Bryan pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bryan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jackson is looking to reverse the position. Jackson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bryan's best efforts. Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bryan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryan is just content to waste time from the top position. Jackson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Bryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson has his foot on Bryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bryan works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bryan won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Bryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bryan's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. Jackson looks gassed! Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Bryan throws a good cross that connects.

and Bryan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson! Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Bryan controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bryan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jackson manages to avoid the submission attempt. Bryan working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryan wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy. Bryan looks up at the clock and then as Jackson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bryan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well. Jackson tries to improve position but can't. Bryan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jackson tries to buck Bryan off but Bryan is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bryan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jackson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bryan's guard! Nice work there by Jackson! Jackson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bryan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jackson, into his guard. Jackson keeping moving, preventing Bryan from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kobe Bryan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A shot to the body from Jackson misses and Bryan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bryan tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bryan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jackson counters with a slapping leg kick. Jackson punishes Bryan's body with a nice straight punch. Jackson misses with a body shot.
Bryan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bryan throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily. Bryan fakes the leg kick and cracks Jackson in the body. Bryan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jackson counters with a left to the body. Bryan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bryan! Bryan is working to get back to half guard.
Jackson is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Bryan is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Peter Jackson!
