Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lance Juarez (ranked 5920 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigmar Paas (ranked 5919 p4p, 504 weight class). Paas has chosen still pimpin as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juarez throws a lazy uppercut
and Paas counters with a left and a right that stings Juarez.
Paas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Juarez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Paas is in Juarez's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Juarez is pulling down on Paas's head to control his posture.
Paas trying to control but Juarez is working from the bottom.
Paas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Juarez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juarez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Paas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Juarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Juarez lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Juarez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Paas looks a forlorn figure.

Juarez lands a heavy elbow.
Paas is looking to improve his position but Juarez isn't that keen on the idea.
A big strike lands for Juarez! That's really hurt Paas and he's turned his back - Juarez keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Juarez jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
