Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Budimon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maxwell House! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! House misses with a looping right. Nice straight punches there by Budimon. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Budimon. Budimon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. House feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Budimon's calf. Budimon looks to score with a jab to the body but House is just out of range. Budimon lands a big head kick that sends House tumbling to the mat! Budimon takes a step backwards and waves House back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Maxwell House has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Budimon pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Budimon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. House lands a body shot.
Budimon throws a lazy uppercut
and House counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Budimon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. House sees it coming and avoids it easily. House was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. A big right from Budimon misses. Budimon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by House. We've been told by Budimon's head coaches at Hunter MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nice body punch from House. House takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Budimon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Budimon throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. A head kick misses from House. House thuds his shin into the meat of Budimon's side. Budimon dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Budimon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Budimon throws a lazy right hand but House sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. House scores with a shot to the body.
Budimon throws out a loose jab but House uses good head movement to avoid it. Budimon jabs House right on the nose. House blinks but takes it well. Budimon swings and misses with a shot to the body letting House counter with a right hand. Budimon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt House. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Budimon takes a swing at House's ribcage but misses. Budimon on the wrong end of a nice jab. House lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Budimon steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from House. That one must have hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Budimon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. House looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Budimon misses with a shot to the body and House counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Budimon is rocked! Budimon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Oh Budimon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! House slips under a jab. Budimon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. House pounces like a tiger and cracks Budimon with a vicious hook! Budimon is down but not out! House follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
