Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Floyd Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnathan Baker!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Baker lunges at Carr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carr's hand.
Carr dives in for a single leg takedown but Baker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Baker is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Carr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Baker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Carr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carr.

Carr has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Baker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Carr controlling the positon.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baker is trying to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carr doesn't have the hooks in and Baker manages to turn into his guard.

Baker gets to his feet. Carr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Baker throws a head kick but Carr moves out of range.

Baker moves into the clinch.
Carr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Baker pulls Carr into guard.

Baker looking for subs off his back but Carr has passed one foot through into half guard.
Carr prevents Baker from improving his position.
Carr trying to control the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baker blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carr.
Baker is looking to improve his position.
Carr controlling the action here.
Baker tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Carr has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Baker is looking to improve his position but Carr isn't that keen on the idea.

Baker tries to lock up and control but Carr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Baker is trying desperately to improve position.
Carr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Baker is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Carr wants to finish this one by submission but Baker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carr.

Carr stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Baker misses with a body kick.

Baker dives in and scores a takedown into Carr's guard.
Baker looks winded!
Baker looking to sit in guard and control but Carr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Baker trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Carr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Carr stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Baker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baker lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Carr scores with a nice head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Johnathan Baker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Baker thows a left - swing and a miss!

Baker moves into range and clinches up with Carr.

Carr successfully pulls guard.
Carr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Baker is controlling him.
Baker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carr keeping moving, preventing Baker from controlling successfully.

Baker stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Baker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carr was covering up waiting for the punch and Baker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Carr controlling the position.
Baker's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Baker tries to free his leg and advance position but Carr is retaining full guard.
Baker is looking to pass into half guard but Carr pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Carr is in guard.

Carr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Baker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Carr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Carr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carr throws a strike but Baker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Carr has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Baker is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Baker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carr has him pressed against the cage.
Carr tries to score a body lock takedown but Baker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Carr has Baker pushed against the cage.
Carr throws a punch but it's blocked by Baker.

Carr misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Baker gets control of Carr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Baker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Carr tries to stand but Baker is controlling from the bottom.

Baker pulls Carr in to control the position.
Carr content to stall in guard here.

Carr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Baker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carr has managed to get both his arms back between Baker's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baker is breathing heavily.
Carr is looking to stand up but Baker won't let him.
Carr sitting in guard here, content to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Baker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Carr has closed the distance and engaged Baker in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Johnathan Baker will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Baker clinches.
Carr misses with an elbow over the top.
Carr fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Carr is trying to pull guard but Baker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Baker is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carr can't fight it off and eventually Baker manages to take the fight to the floor. Carr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Carr manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Baker gets control of Carr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Baker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Baker has control of Carr's left arm, preventing Carr from doing any damage.
Carr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Carr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Baker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carr defends it easily.
Baker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Baker pulls Carr in to control the position.

Carr stands up from Baker's guard - Carr perhaps looking for a knockout.
Johnathan Baker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carr rushes Baker and presses him up against the cage.

Carr manages to pull guard.
Carr pulls Baker in close to his closed guard and prevents Baker from doing any damage or advancing position.
Baker trying to control but Carr is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carr is adopting a defensive guard.
Carr's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Carr continues to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Carr.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Baker throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Baker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carr.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Floyd Carr. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Baker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carr quickly recovers to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Johnathan Baker.
I've got Baker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
