Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenneth Francis Pangga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Justice! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pangga tries to keep at a distance but Justice has taken the fight into the clinch. Justice breaks the clinch.
Pangga fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Justice has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Pangga feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Justice wants to stand but Pangga is controlling the position. Justice is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Justice kicks Pangga off and gets to his feet. Justice looks to clinch and Pangga counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Pangga preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Justice keeping moving, preventing Pangga from controlling successfully. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Hilo inform us that Justice has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Justice managing to control the position. Pangga keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Justice's head. Pangga trying to control the position from guard on top but Justice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pangga knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Justice on the ground. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pangga is sitting in close to Justice's body. Justice has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pangga is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pangga is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Justice.
