Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Khabilov (ranked 5998 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taras Vovchanchyn (ranked 7023 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Khabilov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taras Vovchanchyn!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khabilov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vovchanchyn defends it nicely.
Vovchanchyn tries to counter by closing the distance.

Khabilov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vovchanchyn on his heels. He'll look to pass Vovchanchyn's guard now, I'm sure.
Khabilov wants to control from the top but Vovchanchyn keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Khabilov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vovchanchyn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vovchanchyn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Khabilov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Khabilov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vovchanchyn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Khabilov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Vovchanchyn keeping moving, preventing Khabilov from controlling successfully.
Khabilov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Khabilov tries to free his leg and advance position but Vovchanchyn is retaining full guard.

Vovchanchyn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Khabilov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vovchanchyn is trying to get back to half guard.

Khabilov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Khabilov is looking to take a break and control but Vovchanchyn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Khabilov is trying to get an arm triangle but Vovchanchyn is defending well.
Vovchanchyn can't do much from the bottom here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Vovchanchyn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khabilov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Adam Khabilov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Vovchanchyn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Khabilov wants to control from the top but Vovchanchyn keeps moving.
Khabilov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Khabilov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vovchanchyn changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Vovchanchyn tries to counter with a clinch but Khabilov shakes him off and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Khabilov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Khabilov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vovchanchyn's guard.

Khabilov wants to pass the guard but Vovchanchyn is keeping the position.
Khabilov won't allow Vovchanchyn to sweep him here.
Khabilov wants to control from the top but Vovchanchyn keeps moving.

Vovchanchyn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khabilov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Khabilov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vovchanchyn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Khabilov is looking for a sweep. Vovchanchyn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vovchanchyn wants to control but Khabilov is keeping him busy.

Vovchanchyn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Khabilov is just riding it out for now. Vovchanchyn eventually gives up the hold.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Khabilov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vovchanchyn defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khabilov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Khabilov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Vovchanchyn can't escape the position.
Khabilov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Khabilov goes for an armbar but Vovchanchyn turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Vovchanchyn.
Khabilov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Vovchanchyn has his foot on Khabilov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khabilov works his way back into a safe position though.
Khabilov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vovchanchyn can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Khabilov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
