Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Gelfen (ranked 2166 p4p, 236 weight class) and Yoshi Takano (ranked 1635 p4p, 178 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Gelfen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yoshi Takano! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gelfen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gelfen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gelfen swings away with a body shot that misses
and Takano counters with a right hand to the body. Gelfen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Takano takes a step back to recover. A low kick from Gelfen is predictable there and Takano counters with a leg kick. Gelfen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Gelfen throws out a loose jab but Takano uses good head movement to avoid it. Takano defending well as Gelfen loads up on a big left hand. Takano looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. As Takano looks to move away, Gelfen throws a big counter combo but Takano just gets out of the way. An inside leg kick lands from Gelfen. Gelfen misses with a right hand and Takano counters with a nice body kick. Takano bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Gelfen is breathing heavily. Takano scores with a punch to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Takano avoids the body shot from Gelfen.
Takano lands a nice shot that snaps Gelfen's head back.
Takano misses with a low kick. A lazy left from Takano finds it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gelfen tries to clinch there but Takano circles away.
Takano appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Gelfen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takano moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gelfen. Takano keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Takano lands with a nice body punch. Gelfen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Takano sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gelfen somewhat. Eddie Gelfen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gelfen misses with a low kick. Takano let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Takano swings away with a leg kick that misses. Takano tries to score with a low kick but Gelfen moves his leg out of the way. Gelfen throws an off balance right hand
and Takano makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Takano connects with a jab. Takano checks a low kick from Gelfen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gelfen takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Gelfen tries to close the distance and clinch but Takano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Takano! But no joy. Takano throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Takano pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gelfen throws out a loose jab but Takano uses good head movement to avoid it. Takano connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gelfen momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takano takes a swing at Gelfen's ribcage but misses. Danga de danga de dang - Takano scores with a four punch combination! Gelfen swings and misses with a shot to the body and Takano counters with a leg kick. Takano scoring well with a low kick there.
Gelfen throws a combination. Takano tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Gelfen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Takano is able to avoid easily. Gelfen swings for the body but Takano moves out of range.
Takano only half commits to the counter leg kick. Gelfen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Takano. That one must have hurt. Takano moves out of range of the leg kick from Gelfen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takano throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Takano ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Takano bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Gelfen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Takano feints and then cracks Gelfen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gelfen down. Takano dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gelfen. That did some damage! Gelfen throws a leg kick and Takano counters with a lovely straight right hand! Takano is looking to land body kicks. Gelfen throws out a loose jab but Takano uses good head movement to avoid it. Gelfen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Gelfen throws a body punch but Takano moves out of range. Gelfen misses with a hook
and Takano counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Gelfen will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takano lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gelfen at a distance.
Takano is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gelfen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. A bone on bone clash there as Takano blocks the leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A clash of legs there as Takano blocks the low kick. Takano throws a nice inside leg kick. Takano dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Takano misses with a straight left. Gelfen swings widly with a right hand
and Takano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A shot to the liver by Takano. Beautiful body shot. A good leg kick by Takano. Gelfen misses with a lunging right hand
and Takano counters with a thumping low kick. Gelfen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Takano lands a big head kick that sends Gelfen tumbling to the mat! Takano takes a step backwards and waves Gelfen back to his feet - he wants the finish! Takano moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Takano feints and then cracks Gelfen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gelfen down. Takano throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Takano lands a big right hand that sends Gelfen crashing to the mat! Takano stays standing though and waves Gelfen back to his feet!
Gelfen is rocked! Takano digs a good hook to Gelfen's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshi Takano dominated that round. That's time! Gelfen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Takano lands a right hook to the body.
Gelfen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Takano cracks the inside of Gelfen's front leg. Takano checks a low kick from Gelfen. A nice inside leg kick there by Takano. That's going to slow Gelfen down. Takano moves out of range of the body kick from Gelfen.
Yoshi Takano seems to be getting the better of the standup. Takano lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A nice inside leg kick there by Takano. That's going to slow Gelfen down. Gelfen is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Takano lands a jab. Gelfen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Takano connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Takano has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Takano bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A chopping leg kick lands by Takano. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Good shot there by Takano.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good leg kick by Takano there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A shot to the liver by Takano. Beautiful body shot. Takano scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Takano walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Gelfen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Takano swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Gelfen's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yoshi Takano! Yoshi Takano decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
