Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimi Toa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Leary!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary tries a low kick but Toa avoids it.
Toa misses with a hook. Leary ducked under it nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Leary looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Toa swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Leary misses the jab.
Toa displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Leary has managed to clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Toa.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leary throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Toas head.
Toa blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Leary stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Toa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Leary leaning against his opponent.
Leary misses with the head strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leary's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Leary pulls guard successfully.

Leary looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leary is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Toa tries to stand but Leary is controlling from the bottom.

Toa is posturing up here but Leary has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Toa tries to roll out but it's too tight and Toa has to tap! Slick submission there by Leary!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Leary!
Chris Leary spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
