Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earle Sawyer (ranked 7584 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jam (ranked 8747 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Jam will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earle Sawyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Jam! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jam throws a series of punches but Sawyer moves out of range. Jam has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Jim Jam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jam looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sawyer misses with a low kick.
Sawyer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Jam. Those never looked like landing. Jam shoots in for a double leg but Sawyer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sawyer swinging wildly here.
Jam gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sawyer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sawyer. Jam working hard to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sawyer stalling in the clinch.

Jam throws a right and a left that both miss. Sawyer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Sawyer darts in and clinches Jam up against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Sawyer lands a shoulder strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sawyer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jam moves out of range of the body kick. Sawyer rushes Jam and presses him up against the cage. The referee calls for Sawyer to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jam is trying to push Sawyer away but Sawyer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Sawyer lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sawyer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sawyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jam lands a glancing blow to the side of Sawyer's head. Sawyer closes the distance and clinches. Sawyer misses with a body punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sawyer pressing his opponent against the cage. Jam wants to get back to striking at distance but Sawyer won't allow it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sawyer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Sawyer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sawyer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Jam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sawyer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sawyer throws a nice looking combination but Jam bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sawyer has closed the distance and engaged Jam in a clinch.

A lazy body kick from Sawyer and Jam counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jam looks for a takedown but Sawyer sprawls well. Jam misses with a series of wild punches.
Sawyer darts in and clinches Jam up against the cage. Sawyer is pushing Jam up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Sawyer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Jam is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jam blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jam takes a shot to the head. Jam breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sawyer gets a clinch. Sawyer breaks from the clinch.

Jam is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Sawyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jam shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sawyer pinned against the cage. Sawyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Earle Sawyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Jam.

Jam swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A head kick misses from Sawyer. Sawyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jam can do to turn this around? Sawyer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jam.
Jam loads up on a big right hand but Sawyer slips the punch. Nice uppercut there from Jam. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sawyer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jam, pushing him back against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The referee is keeping an eye on Sawyer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Jam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sawyer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Jam lands a nice shot to the body.

Sawyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sawyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jam tries to clinch but Sawyer moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jam has a takedown stuffed. Jam with a jab. Jam avoids the head kick by Sawyer.

Sawyer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sawyer there as he acknowledges the shot. Jam avoids a kick to the body.
Jam throws a right hand that Sawyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Sawyer also avoids with ease. Sawyer appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Jam throws a series of strikes that have Sawyer backpedaling.
Jam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sawyer has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sawyer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sawyer misses with a body kick. Jam looks to land a combination but Sawyer avoids it well. Sawyer rushes Jam and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Sawyer manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Earle Sawyer. Jam misses with a wild combination.

Jam lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Jam misses with a series of wild punches.
As Jam looks to move away, Sawyer throws a big counter combo but Jam just gets out of the way. Jam fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sawyer throws a right and a left that both miss. Jim Jam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Earle Sawyer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sawyer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Sawyer takes one to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Earle Sawyer. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sawyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
