Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Petrov (ranked 7241 p4p, 282 weight class) and Marvin Meep (ranked 4766 p4p, 206 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meep takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Meep's coach down at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Meep's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Meep is looking to control Petrov's arms but Petrov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Meep has his back to the cage.

Petrov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Petrov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Meep stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petrov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Meep is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Petrov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Meep really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petrov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Meep must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Meep got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petrov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Meep has managed to get both his arms back between Petrov's legs - danger averted.

Petrov gets through Meep's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Meep scores with a hook to the body.

Meep lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Petrov has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Petrov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meep defends well.

Meep is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Petrov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Meep is looking to defend but Petrov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Meep! Petrov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Meep taps out and this one is all over!

Sergei Petrov spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
