Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tarik Ramic (ranked 5944 p4p, 634 weight class) and Mazais Asais (ranked 5815 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tarik Ramic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mazais Asais!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asais fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ramic avoids it really well and circles away.
Ramic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Asais but Asais pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Asais is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Tarik Ramic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ramic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Asais avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tarik Ramic. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ramic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ramic blocks the strikes from Asais.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asais is trying to get back to full guard.

Asais has one foot on Ramic's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Asais kicks off Ramic and gets to his feet.

Ramic is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Asais enables Ramic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Asais manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Asais manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ramic darts in looking for a takedown but Asais gets double underhooks and turns Ramic into the cage.
Asais is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Asais should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ramic takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ramic fails with a takedown attempt.
Asais lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Ramic is breathing heavily.
Ramic shoots in and drives through. Asais sprawls well.
Ramic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Asais connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Asais moves into the clinch.
Asais prevents the takedown attempt.

Asais's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Asais throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Asais shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramic as he jumps to the side.
Ramic misses with a takedown
enabling Asais to counter with a crisp jab.
Asais shoots in and drives through. Ramic sprawls well.
Asais closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramic circles away.
Asais tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As Asais backs away, Ramic returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Ramic tries to keep at a distance but Asais has taken the fight into the clinch.
Asais crunches a lovely knee into Ramic's ribcage.

Asais breaks from the clinch.
Asais displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramic.

Asais moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Asais is struggling to control the position.

Asais breaks from the clinch.
Asais lands a nice looking body shot.
Asais fails with a takedown attempt.

Asais gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ramic connects with a couple of short punches.

Asais working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Asais lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ramic has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Asais should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ramic has tightened it up now! Asais should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
